Electrical Project Engineer. Data Center

Hiring an Electrical Project Engineer to be responsible for several functions throughout the duration of assigned projects including planning, buyout, management and closeout. This role actively assists the project team in monitoring project status and identifying issues that may impact the project schedule and/or budget. The ideal candidate is open to travel and/or relocation based on upcoming project needs.


This role requires the ability to work 6 days per week, Monday – Saturday.

Location Cedar Rapids, IA (On-site)


What You'll Do

  • Review Project Data (Specifications, BOQ, Q&A,… & Drawings) and issue the relevant RFI’s in case of contradiction / missing data using BIM model if applicable

  • Submit, review, and follow up on the electrical shop drawing and as-built drawings to determine conformance with contract documents

  • Collaborate with project team to complete requests for information (RFI)

  • Research and analyze customer design proposals specification, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications

  • Study and verify Engineering Site Instructions through the BIM models

  • Evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform assigned tasks

  • Attend regular project meetings

  • Identify and resolve issues, conflicts, and technical issues as they arise

  • Review submittals and other project documents for accuracy against plans and specifications

  • Monitor material and equipment delivery status

  • Understand and assist with project schedule management


What We're Looking For

Education:

  • Degree in Engineering or related area is required

Experience:

  • 3-5+ years of design and construction experience

  • EIT certification is a plus

  • LEAN principles experience is desirable

  • Knowledge of NEC code

Technology:

  • Proficient in basic computer software including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook

  • Autodesk software programs (Revit AutoCAD and Navisworks)

  • Ability to learn specific job-related software upon hire (JDE, Procore, Bluebeam, scheduling software, etc.)
